    Prayers of Healing

As illness, suffering, tears  and sorrow are universal and transcend religion, we at Tzedakah House extend our thoughts and offer prayers of healing to all in need.

There are moments when wellness escapes us,

moments when pain and suffering are not dim possibilities,

but all too agonizing realities.

At such moments, we must open ourselves to healing.

Much we can do for ourselves; and what we can do,

we must do--healing, no less than illness, requires our attention.

Yet even when we do all we can do, there is, often, still much left to be done.

And so we turn to our healers, seeking their skill to aid in our struggle for wellness.

Yet even when they do all they can do, there is, often, still much left to be done.

And so we turn to Life,  to the vast Power of Being and Becoming,

hoping to let go of self  and open to peace.

May those , whose lives are  gripped in the palm of suffering,

open even now to the Wonder of Life.

May s/he let go of the one who hurts and embrace the deeper self

that is our joyous unity with God.

May s/he discover through pain and torment  the strength to live with grace and humor.

May s/he discover through doubt and anguish the strength to live with dignity and holiness.

May s/he discover through suffering and fear the strength to move toward healing.

May the Power of Healing that blessed our ancestors Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Leah, be opened to _____ , that s/he, too, might know true healing.

May it come to pass that s/he be restored to health and to vigor.

May Life grant her/him wellness of body, of spirit, and of mind.

And if this cannot be so, may s/he find in this transformation and passage moments of meaning, opportunities for love, and the deep and gracious calm that comes when we allow ourselves to move on.

Amen and amen.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD.

I SHALL NOT WANT.

HE MAKES ME TO LIE DOWN IN GREEN PASTURES.

HE LEADS ME BESIDE THE STILL WATERS.

HE RESTORES MY SOUL.

HE GUIDES ME IN STRAIGHT PATHS FOR HIS NAME'S SAKE.

YEA THAT I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH,

I SHALL FEAR NO EVIL, FOR THOU ART WITH ME.

THY ROD AND THY STAFF, THEY COMFORT ME.

THOU PREPARES A TABLE BEFORE ME IN THE PRESENCE OF MINE ENEMIES.

THOU HAS ANOINTED MY HEAD WITH OIL, MY CUP RUNS OVER.

SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY SHALL FOLLOW ME ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE.

AND I SHALL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOREVER.

AMEN
